Hi, I LOVE your blog! I was wondering if jumping jacks are a good way to exercise? I read somewhere that 1,000=1 mile, but I don't know if that's reliable. I just really hate running in the Florida heat and these are much more convenient. Thank you :D
motivationintohabit motivationintohabit Said:

I know jumping jacks are definitely good for you! I don’t know the exactly numbers and to be honest, I wouldn’t get too wrapped up in the exact numbers of it anyway. They are great for you. However, don’t over do it. It’s a lot of work solely on your calves. Since the outdoors are a bit much in your area with the heat, you can put jumping jacks into your indoor routine, but I wouldn’t JUST do jumping jacks. Put it with butt kicks, high knees, mountain climbers, burpees, and other good indoor cardio exercises. :)

How do I get rid of stretch marks and cellulite on my thighs? I'm so embarrassed to have them and it prevents me from going to the beach with my friends :/ btw I love your blog and your story is so inspirational! :)
motivationintohabit motivationintohabit Said:

I honestly have not taken any action to get rid of mine because they tell my story. So I don’t know anything for sure, but I have heard that body butter or shea works if you want to give those a try! :)

I see people comment that exercise gets hard to stay with, that once they've some weight it's hard to keep going, etc. I know that feeling well and hope I can offer this piece of advice: Find other numbers to focus on. When you're training to lose weight, you're training to be an athlete. Treat yourself like one! Keep track of your time on the treadmill, your distance on the bike. Strive to make it better. Compete. With another number to watch, those plateaus don't seem so bad! <3

LOVE THIS! Never thought of it that way. I will definitely be using this piece of advice more thanks anon!!

will walking 3 hours a week help me lose weight?
motivationintohabit motivationintohabit Said:

It wont make a HUGE impact, but it all depends on you as a person: your activity level, how much you eat, etc. Walking 3 hours per week wont do anything for me, but it helps my mother.

Can I do something for that awful beginner pain ? :/ It's just so ugh! it hurts too much... all my body :c and I dont find it enjoyable at all
motivationintohabit motivationintohabit Said:

Do you mean the soreness? That’s called DOMS: delayed onset muscle soreness and it’s supposed to occur 24-72 hours after exercise. It’s supposed to occur every time you stress your body or re-stress it. I know it hurts, but getting up and moving around relieves it. Not completely, but it wont be as bad. Also, don’t forget to stretch really well after you exercise and intermittently throughout the day in order to get the lactic acid out or the soreness will be worse. The more you exercise, the less intense the soreness will be.

To the few people who have talked about bad knees: I have tendinitis in both my knees and now seeing a physical therapist for it. Knee pain can be very- elusive- at times to determine what it is unless you see even just a general doctor. It's also possible that some tendons can just be inflamed. Knee pain can get very- well- painful. It's not pleasant. I always recommend going to at least a general doctor (family, whatever) and see what they think.

I am a 19yo cis-woman. I am 5.7ft tall.
I am in recovery from an eating disorder and during this process I have gained 15lbs.
I am 170lbs now.

With a BMI of 25.1 I am officially overweight.

Though I look like I have LOST weight and my old pants still fit me. But whatever, I’m…

This this this and this!!! BMIs are a poor way to calculate your health level!

After almost two weeks of stress eating this is exactly what I needed. It’s 1am but I’m running right when I wake up

I have decided that I am truly going to drop some pounds. I have found a bunch of sites including yours that have completely motivated me to FINALLY change. I want to lose about 15 - 20 pounds but my issue is that I'm a junior in college and I enjoy going out on the weekends and drinking. Any tips as to how I can manage going out and eating right/exercising or is that impossible? Should I completely stop drinking until I'm at my goal weight? Thanks a lot! :)
motivationintohabit motivationintohabit Said:

I’m also a junior in college so I understand what that’s like. Just drink in moderation. Don’t drink excessively over the weekends and (if your college is anything like mine) maybe only go out once a week instead of every day over the weekend. You don’t ever have to give up anything while losing weight, just know when you should limit yourself. :)

hello there, im from brazil and i love your blog! I've been a vegetarian for the past 4 ears, and most of the time i eat healthy and exercise, about 6 months ago i started to focus on really losing weight. I was 158 and im 5'6, right now im at 145... i feel that its been a really slow change and now im considering a lipo laser. But a part of me feels like thats cheating.. Any advice?
motivationintohabit motivationintohabit Said:

You can make any decision you wish. However, getting lipo without changing your lifestyle wont help at all. Also, you’ve already lost 13 lbs you can definitely keep it going. Don’t give up hun!! A slow change is still a change and also statistically the slower you lose it, the higher your chances go of keeping it off. :)
